IX. International Horn Academy

THE 9TH INTERNATIONAL HORN ACADEMY WILL BE HELD IN BALATONFÜRED, HUNGARY, BETWEEN 11-17 AUGUST 2024,

for which we welcome applications from participants between 15-28 years old.The course will include individual lessons, piano accompaniment and chamber ensembles with renowned teachers from all over the world. 
The academy welcomes active and passive participants with workshops in the mornings, while in the afternoons the focus is on chamber music and one-to-one lessons. In the evenings, instrumental exhibitions and concerts complete the programme. The course will end with a hornensemble-concert on Saturday, where participants will have the opportunity to perform with the course teachers.

• Zsófia Magyar - mental trainer, performance coach (Bamberg)

• 16 Aug 2024 - Students' concert (Ferencsik J. Music School)
  
• 17 Aug 2024 - Horn Academy Ensemble - Closing concert (Reformed Church)
  

Location of the course:

Balatonfüred Reformed Primary School (8230 Balatonfüred, 2 Iskola u.)
Ferencsik János Music School Balatonfüred (8230 Balatonfüred, 13 Ady Endre u.)

Course Fee: 330 EUR, which includes:

• individual lessons every day 
  
• piano rehearsals with piano accompaniment and teachers
  
• participation in chamber ensembles
  
• testing of instruments and accessories of the exhibitors
  
• participation in presentations by exhibitors
  
• active participation on the workshops
  
• participation in concerts and programmes
• the opportunity to practise
  

We can accept a maximum of 24 active students. We cannot supervise underage students (under 18) outside of the professional programmes (e.g. lunch/dinner/leisure in town), so we require parental consent from minors enrolled on the course.

We can accept a limited number of needy students for a reduced fee, please send your request by email along with the online application form! Students will be informed of the discount at the same time as their application is accepted.

quadruple dormitory rooms:  170 € / 8 nights

Lunch at the Giorgi restaurant, available in two different price categories:
Menu A: soup, main course: 21.000 HUF / 53 € / 7 days
Menu B: soup, main course, dessert: 31.000 HUF / 80 € / 7 days

Travelling from abroad :

The nearest airport is Budapest, from where you can take the train to Balatonfüred in one and a half hours.
